The First Packard 180Prototype Fit for an EmpressIn 1938 as a special favor for the last Empress of China Wan Jung Packard produced a one-of-a-kind luxury Touring Sedan. They called this car the 180 and in 1940 with minimal changes on the grille work it became part of Packard’s line. Replacing the exorbitantly expensive Packard Twelve (which was down to less than 500 a year in sales) the 180 became their top-of-the-line custom built car. This prototype now on display in Beijing’s museum had a body built by the master coach makers at Rollston. No expense was spared from the updated Speed Goddess hood ornament; narrow vertical grille work; wide white wall tires; wood dashboard; and a throne-like rear seat. Powered by Packard’s Straight 8 now up to 160 horsepower it was literally a car for royalty.Features Opening Hood Opening Trunk Opening Doors Working Steering System Even the Trunk is Carpeted Features Include Wired and Plumbed Straight 8 Engine All 4 Doors Open Showing Detailed Dashboard and Luxurious Upholstery Precision Die-Cast Replica 11 Inches Long 1:18 Scale
