The first requirement was that it would cruise at 90mph. This was achieved by supercharging the inline-8 engine bringing it’s horsepower up to 230 (in 1938). It was the fastest standard model of its kind in the world. By 1938 it was only available as a special-order for Hitler and his cronies.
